What was the nameplate controversy
The Uttar Pradesh government had ordered all shop owners on the Kavad Yatra route to write their names in front of their shops. So that the Kavadis know what the name of the shopkeeper is. However, the Muzaffarnagar police first instructed all the eateries on the Kavad Yatra route to disclose the names of their owners. After this, the Uttar Pradesh government spread it across the state.
