Bhopal, July 25 (HS). Due to the strong monsoon system in Madhya Pradesh, it is raining every day. The state has received an average of 14.6 inches, which is 35 percent of the rainfall of this monsoon season. Due to the rain, the water level of Narmada has increased by 2 feet. The water level in other rivers and dams is also increasing continuously. Due to this, flood-like conditions have arisen in many districts. On Thursday also, an alert for heavy rain has been issued in 18 districts including Bhopal and Jabalpur.
According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon trough has moved up. The low pressure area is active in the form of cyclonic circulation. Another cyclonic circulation is in North Gujarat. It has merged with the monsoon trough. Due to these reasons, it is raining in the state. Strong system activity may occur again from July 28. Heavy rain is expected in the northern part on July 29 and 30.
Earlier on Wednesday, 24 districts of the state received rain. Tikamgarh received the maximum rainfall of 3.5 inches. Rewa received 2.4 inches and Umaria received 1.5 inches of rain. Meanwhile, Guna, Damoh, Jabalpur, Khajuraho and Malajkhand received half an inch of rain. Bhopal, Betul, Dhar, Gwalior, Narmadapuram, Satna, Seoni, Indore, Khandwa, Khargone, Pachmarhi, Ratlam, Ujjain, Mandla, Narsinghpur and Rewa also received rain. Flood-like conditions have developed in Sagar, Tikamgarh and Bina. On Wednesday, 5 out of 11 gates of Pagra Dam in Sagar were opened to release water. Whereas in Bildhav of Bina, people had to be rescued from the roofs of their houses. A youth was swept away in Sindh River in Sankua Dham of Datia.
Let us tell you that for the first time in the season, the rainfall in the state has been equal to the average rainfall. The state has received 14.6 inches of rain. This much rainfall should have occurred till now. The western part of the state- Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Narmadapuram, Gwalior-Chambal divisions have received 4 percent more rain than the average, while the eastern part- Rewa, Sagar, Jabalpur and Shahdol divisions have received 5 percent less rain.
