India Alliance: After the Lok Sabha elections, independent MPs started joining the India Alliance one by one and gradually this tribe kept on increasing. Now according to the latest political situation, another big party seems to be preparing to join the India Alliance.
Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday staged a protest in the national capital Delhi. He alleged that the Telugu Desam Party government, which recently came to power in the state, has adopted a violent approach against his party.
This protest of Jagan Mohan Reddy got the support of many stalwarts of India Alliance. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also joined Reddy's protest on Wednesday and extended his support to the protest of YSR Congress. From here, the discussion started in the political circles that YSR Congress can also join the Indian fleet.
If this thing turns into reality, then the India Alliance group will become even stronger in the Parliament. YSR Congress has four MPs in the Lok Sabha. By coming together with them, India Alliance could not get that strength in the Lok Sabha, but the party has 11 MPs in the Rajya Sabha, which is a big number. If 11 Rajya Sabha MPs come together, then India Alliance will be in a very strong position in the upper house of the Parliament.
There are a total of 245 seats in the Rajya Sabha, but due to 19 seats being vacant, the total number of members of the upper house of Parliament is currently 226. In such a situation, the magic number of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha becomes 113. According to the Times of India report, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA alliance is currently 13 seats behind the majority in the Rajya Sabha. BJP has 86 seats in the Rajya Sabha and the NDA has a total of 101 MPs.
Whereas the opposition Bharat Alliance has 87 MPs in the Rajya Sabha. Of these, 26 are from Congress and 13 are from Trinamool Congress. Aam Aadmi Party YSRCP and DMK have 10 MPs each in Rajya Sabha. In such a situation, if YSR Congress also joins the Bharat Gathbandhan, then the total number of MPs of the opposition alliance will reach 98.
This means that it may be very difficult for the Modi government to pass any bill in the Rajya Sabha. However, Jagan Mohan Reddy has not said anything about joining the Bharat Alliance at the moment.
