The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday filed a chargesheet against former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in a special MCOCA court in Pune for threatening an IPS officer. In the chargesheet, the CBI has said that Anil Deshmukh had threatened the then Jalgaon SP Praveen Munde to register a false case against BJP leader Girish Mahajan. Anil Deshmukh's troubles have increased after filing the chargesheet.
The CBI has alleged in the chargesheet that Anil Deshmukh, while being the Home Minister, had called the then SP of Jalgaon, Praveen Munde, three times and asked him to register a case against Girish Mahajan. At that time Anil Deshmukh had also said that he was sending a government lawyer to him for this work. When Munde said that this crime is not within the limits of Jalgaon, so this crime should be registered in Pune. Despite this, Home Minister Anil Deshmukh did not listen to him and forcibly registered the case by threatening him.
Actually, BJP leader Girish Mahajan was a director on the board of an educational institution in Jalgaon. At that time, there was a dispute over the post of in-charge of the educational institution. A case was registered against Girish Mahajan in this matter. At that time, the then Devendra Fadnavis was the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, so Fadnavis raised this matter in the Assembly. After this, the investigation of this case was handed over to the CBI. The CBI is investigating the case registered against Girish Mahajan.
