Jaipur, 28 February (HS). Rajasthan Nursing Council, Jaipur has issued a show cause notice to Harish Hospital in the case of rape of a woman by a nursing worker by giving anesthetic injection in a private hospital of Alwar. Besides, information has been sought about the nursing staff working in all the private medical institutions of the state.
Medical and Health Minister Gajendra Singh had given instructions to form a high level investigation committee as soon as information about the rape case was received. Rajasthan Nursing Council formed the committee with immediate effect on the instructions of the Medical Minister. The inquiry committee has investigated the matter and given its report on Wednesday itself.
According to the report, accused Chirag Yadav was working as a nursing helper in Harish Hospital. During investigation, it was found that he is a student of GANM session 2018-19 at School of Nursing Harish Hospital, Alwar and was continuously absent without any information. Chirag Yadav is not even a nurse registered by the Nursing Council.
After this fact came to light in the investigation, the Nursing Council has issued a show cause notice to Harish Hospital asking on what basis Chirag Yadav was employed in the hospital without registration and being ineligible. Besides, on the instructions of the Nursing Council, Chirag Yadav has also been expelled from the School of Nursing, Harish Hospital.
On the instructions of Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health Shubhra Singh, Rajasthan Nursing Council has issued a letter to all the private medical institutions of the state, asking for eligibility of all the nursing staff working in the institute, registration in the Nursing Council and other information. Also, Director Public Health, Dr. Raviprakash Mathur has instructed the Chief Medical and Health Officer of Alwar to form a committee and investigate the matter. He has also given instructions to cancel the registration under the Clinical Establishment Act/Rules if any irregularities are found regarding the qualification of the personnel working in the hospital.
