Punjab Weather Update: A rain alert has been issued in Punjab today as well on Wednesday. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in one district and a yellow alert in 14. However, the monsoon has slowed down. It is not raining even after the alert. This creates hot and humid conditions.
While the average maximum temperature of the state has recorded a drop of -0.2 degrees. It has also come close to normal. The highest temperature in the state was recorded at 39.6 degrees in Bathinda. The weather will change again from tomorrow.
Along with this, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of moderate rain in Mansa, Bathinda, Fazilka, Sri Muktsar Sahib and Tarn Taran till 10 am. Meanwhile, strong winds will blow at a speed of 30 to 40 km.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Pathankot adjoining Himachal Pradesh. In such a situation, an orange alert has been issued for the district. While storm and rain alert has been issued in Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Mansa, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Patiala and Mohali.

Along with this, from June 1 till now, the state has received 49 percent less rain. Pathankot, Tarn Taran, Mansa and Sangrur received normal rain. Whereas six districts Rupnagar has received 62 percent less rain, SBS Nagar has received 64 percent less rain, Mohali has received 72 percent less rain, Fatehgarh Sahib has received 80 percent less rain, Firozpur has received 66 percent less rain and Bathinda has received 73 percent less rain. Whereas other districts have recorded 30 to 59 percent less rain.

Patiala- The maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 34.4 degrees. Today it will be cloudy. The temperature will be recorded between 28 to 32 degrees.
Mohali- Yesterday the maximum temperature was recorded at 35.6 degrees. It will be cloudy. Today the temperature can remain between 29 to 35 degrees.
Ludhiana- The maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 34.2 degrees. It will be cloudy today. The temperature will be recorded between 28 and 33 degrees.
