Budget 2024: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today Budget While presenting the budget, many big announcements were made. One of which is related to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The minister has said that additional houses will be built across the country under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Three crore new houses will be built under this scheme.
Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 2.0, a target has been set to provide houses to 1 crore urban poor and middle class families in the next 5 years. A total investment of Rs 10 lakh crore will be made for this ambitious scheme, out of which the central government will provide assistance of Rs 2.2 lakh crore. Under the scheme, interest subsidy has also been arranged to provide loan facility at affordable rates.
Presenting the budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that Rs 2.66 lakh crore has been allocated for rural development including rural infrastructure. Finance Minister Sitharaman said that three crore additional houses will be built in rural and urban areas under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Presenting the budget for the year 2024-25, she said that this year a provision of Rs 2.66 lakh crore has been made for rural development including rural infrastructure.
