Mumbai: Silver price in Ahmedabad gold-silver market today was Rs. Silver prices in Mumbai's jewellery market today witnessed a sharp decline. After the fall on Saturday, prices saw a further decline today. However, after suffering a setback, gold prices saw a slow recovery.

Meanwhile, the dollar rose against the rupee amid signs of recession in the Mumbai currency market today. Market players were keeping an eye on whether the import duty on gold is reduced in the budget or not. In view of the recent increase in gold smuggling in the country, the possibility of reducing the import duty was being discussed in the market. However, market experts were also calculating that if the domestic import duty is reduced, the price of gold in the world market will increase.

Meanwhile, the price of gold in the global market today was in the range of 2400 to 2401, high of 2412 and low of 2393 to 2397 to 2398 dollars per ounce. Domestically, gold prices in Ahmedabad jewellery market were at Rs 75,300 at 99.50 per 10 gram and Rs 75,500 at 99.90 per gram.

Ahmedabad Silver prices today fell by Rs 1500 to Rs 89000 per kg. In the global market, silver prices touched a high of 29.43 per ounce followed by 29.22 to 29.23 per ounce and traded at $ 28.75 to $ 28.81 to $ 28.82 per ounce.

Silver prices in Mumbai bullion market today fell from Rs 89,000 to Rs 88,196 without GST. On the other hand, the price of gold without GST in Mumbai increased from Rs 72,900 at 99.50 to Rs 72,925, while the price of silver at 99.90 increased from Rs 73,006 to Rs 73,218 to Rs 73,200.

In the currency market, the value of the dollar against the rupee, which had risen from Rs 83.75 to Rs 83.76 at the close of market on Saturday, today fell to a low of Rs 83.65 to Rs 83.67. In the world market, the global dollar index stood at 104.36 today after reaching a low of 104.26 from 104.18. The value of the British pound remained around Rs 108.20.

Today, the price of platinum in the world market was $ 954 while the price of palladium was $ 910. The fall in crude oil prices in the world market continued today. Brent crude prices fell from $ 82.63 to $ 82.09 per barrel while US crude prices were at $ 80.13 per barrel. Global copper prices fell by 1.37 percent today.
