New Delhi: Without getting a full majority in the Lok Sabha elections, BJP has formed the NDA government at the center with its allies. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's party JDU, which is part of this coalition government, has demanded special status for Bihar. However, now the central government has given a big blow to Nitish Kumar and JDU. The Center clarified in the Lok Sabha that Bihar will not be given the status of a special state because Bihar does not fulfill the criteria for the status of a special state. Politics has heated up over this decision of the central government. Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has demanded Nitish Kumar's resignation from the post of Chief Minister.

On the first day of the budget session on Monday, JDU MP Rampreet Mandal had asked a question in the Lok Sabha about granting special state status to Bihar, on which the state's Finance Minister Pankaj Chaudhary said that earlier some states had approved it. National Development Council for special state status. And to grant this special state status, the certain status of the state is taken into consideration. Bihar is not in such a position that it can be given the status of a special state. In 2012, the Inter Ministerial Group (IMG) also did not support giving this status to Bihar in view of the criteria.

After this reply of the central government, politics has heated up. Because a day earlier, in the all-party meeting, JDU had demanded to give special state status to Bihar. Earlier there were also reports that Nitish Kumar had also put a condition of giving special state status to Bihar to join the NDA government. However, he has been disappointed. Meanwhile, former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav fiercely targeted Nitish Kumar, Lalu said that Nitish Kumar has lied to the people of Bihar by promising a special state. Now he should morally resign from the post of Chief Minister. Nitish Kumar has compromised the hopes and expectations of Bihar for power.

Talking to PTI, JDU MP Rampreet Mandal said that I had raised the question in the Lok Sabha regarding the demand for special state status, party MP Sanjay Kumar Jha also raised this issue in the all-party meeting on Sunday and demanded that if Bihar does not get special state status, a special package should be announced. Since 2013, Nitish Kumar and we have been making all efforts for special state status or special package, but no good result has come out so far. At the same time, another JDU MP Deveshchandra Thakur said that the government is refusing to give special state status to Bihar by moving ahead on the old rules, the central government can also change the rules to meet our demands.
