Dehradun, 22 July (HS). Players of Uttarakhand Wheelchair Cricket Team met Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd.) at Raj Bhawan on Monday. During this, the Governor congratulated the team on winning the “Indian Wheelchair Cricket Premier League-5” competition held in Delhi. The Governor said that the success of the wheelchair cricket team has not only increased the prestige of the state, but it will also inspire other disabled people. He told the players that the goal that all of you have achieved with your strong willpower is an example for others as well.

The Governor said that the Uttarakhand Wheelchair Cricket Team has brought laurels to the state by winning the Indian Wheelchair Premier League, which all of us residents of the state are proud of. The team became the champion by defeating Maharashtra in the final of the competition held in June. The Governor said that the cooperation of Divyangjans is necessary to connect them with the mainstream of sports. Voluntary organizations along with industrial institutions will have to come forward to support the Divyangjans. On this occasion, he took information about the problems and challenges of the United Divyang Cricket Association and assured all possible help to the players and the association.

On this occasion, Uttarakhand Disabled Cricket Association President Ganesh Shah, Vice President Vijay Ramola, Secretary Upendra Panwar, team captain Manoj Kumar, vice-captain Dhanveer Singh, players Vikas Kumar, Harendra Singh, Akash Patel, Subodh, Kamal Hasan, Alok Kumar, Rohan Sharma, Arvind Singh and Aneesh etc. were present.
