Bikaner, July 22 (HS). Original and unpublished manuscripts of literary genres have been invited for the new awards started by Desert Research Institute Sridungargarh, namely Surya Prakash Bissa Smriti Rajasthani Women Writing Award and Kala-Dungar Kalyani Smriti Rajasthani Children Literature Award.
Shyam Maharshi, Secretary of the Institute, said that these two new awards have been started on an experimental basis from this year to ensure the development, promotion, literary readership engagement and complete encouragement of Rajasthani language to women's writing and children's literature.
Coordinator of the Samman Samiti, Ravi Purohit, said that only original and unpublished literary manuscripts can be sent for consideration for this award. Manuscripts of 96 to 128 pages for Mahila Lekhan Samman and 64 to 72 pages for Bal Sahitya Samman in any genre of literature can be sent for consideration. Manuscripts should be in clear typed form and one copy of it along with email soft copy should reach the address of Secretary, Desert Research Institute, Sanskriti Bhawan, NH 11, Jaipur Road, Sridungargarh (Rajasthan)-331803 by 30 September 2024.
The manuscript of the selected author will be published free of cost by the institute and released on Mother Language Day and the author will be honoured with 41 copies of the published work in a function organised by the institute on the same day. Discussion programmes will also be organised at different places in the state on the works published under the scheme with the support of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University and other institutions, in which women and children will be specially included.
