Supreme Court on Kanwar Yatra name plate dispute: Recently, an order was given by the Yogi government that all shopkeepers, whether it is Mahendra or Mohsin, will have to put a name plate outside their shop, lorry-gallan or establishment. This order was especially for the traders coming to Muzaffarnagar on the way to Kanwad Yatra, but later this order was implemented in the whole of Uttar Pradesh. There was a lot of controversy about this and finally the matter reached the Supreme Court. From where the Yogi government has got a big shock.

Supreme Court put interim stay on the order of Yogi government

The Supreme Court has now put an interim stay on this order of the Yogi government and said, 'No shopkeeper needs to put a name plate outside his shop or lorry. They should not reveal their identity. You have to show the identity of the food, not the name. Along with this, notice was also issued to the governments of Madhya Pradesh, UP and Uttarakhand.

The next hearing will be on July 26

The next hearing in this case will be on July 26. Under the interim order of the Supreme Court, it has been said that shop owners and employees should not be forced to write their names. It is worth noting that the order of the Uttar Pradesh government was challenged in the Supreme Court by the NGO Association for Protection of Civil Rights. In this case, a bench of Justice Hrishikesh Rai and Justice S.V.N. Bhatti heard the case.

What happened during the hearing in the Supreme Court?

During the hearing, the Supreme Court asked, 'Is this a press statement or an order? Petitioner's lawyer C.U. Singh said, 'The district administration of Uttar Pradesh is pressurizing shopkeepers to reveal their name and mobile number. No law gives the police the right to do this. Only the police has the right to check what kind of food is being served. 'The name of the shopkeeper or his owner cannot be made mandatory.'
