Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot has once again demanded the NDA government at the Center to declare MSP to the farmers as per the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission. Ashok Gehlot has tweeted in this regard today.
He tweeted that the NDA government should immediately announce MSP for farmers as per the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission, only then he will be awarded the Bharat Ratna. Dr. Madhura Swaminathan, daughter of Mr. MS Swaminathan, has also said that the government should listen to the farmers and take them on board instead of treating them like criminals.
During its tenure, the UPA government had implemented 175 of the 201 recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission and work on the rest was ongoing. Now Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge and former President Shri Rahul Gandhi have guaranteed that when the government comes to power at the Centre, a law will be made to guarantee MSP to the farmers.
