EPFO: The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has released the data for May 2024. This data shows that jobs are increasing rapidly in the country. According to the data, 19.50 lakh members joined EPFO in May 2024 (EPFO data in May). It is worth noting that this is the highest number of people joining EPFO since April 2018. According to the data released by the Ministry of Labor, the number of EPFO members has increased by 19.62 percent as compared to May 2023.
9.85 lakh new members joined in May
According to EPFO payroll data, the number of new members increased rapidly in May. A total of 9.85 lakh new members have joined EPFO in May 2024. In such a situation, there has been an increase of 10.96 percent in the number of new members as compared to April 2024. At the same time, an increase of 11.5 percent has been registered annually.
The youth are getting employment
According to the data, the number of youth in the age group of 18 to 25 years was 58.37 percent of the total new members during this period. Most of these people are first-time job seekers. The special thing is that after the release of payroll data, the maximum number of youth got jobs in May 2024. In May, a total of 14.09 lakh people left their jobs and started working somewhere else. There are 2.48 lakh women among the new members. In May 2024, a total of 3.69 lakh women members joined EPFO. In such a situation, there has been an increase of 17.24 percent as compared to May 2023.
Most of the members are from these states
According to EPFO data, the highest number of members (58.24%) are from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Karnataka and Haryana. The highest number of new members (11.36 lakh) have been added from these states. Out of which the highest number of members (18.87%) are from Maharashtra. Most of the EPFO members are from the engineering sector as well as building and construction, manpower supply and electronic media companies.
