The AIFF said in its statement, 'The new head coach of the senior men's national team was discussed in the first day's meeting and Manolo Marquez has been selected as the new coach. He will also be seen as the head coach of FC Goa in the 2024-25 season.

After appointing Manolo Marquez as the coach, AIFF chief Kalyan Chaubey said in his statement, 'We are happy to welcome him. We wanted to work with him for a long time.'
