Kolkata, July 20 (HS). After the spectacular victory in the Lok Sabha elections, the Trinamool Congress is now all set for its annual Shaheed Diwas rally on July 21. The aim of this rally will be to strengthen the unity of the opposition at the national level and challenge the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav will attend this rally. This information has been shared by senior Trinamool leader Kunal Ghosh.
Along with this, Trinamool National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, who was absent for some time due to health reasons, will be seen again in this important rally.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee underlined the importance of the Shaheed Diwas rally and said that tomorrow is another 21st July. This day has a deep significance in the history of Bengal. On this day in 1993, the CPI(M) regime ruthlessly killed 13 of our comrades. This is an important milestone for us, which we celebrate every year with the people of Bengal. We remember these martyrs with love and respect.
She further said that we also celebrate this day as 'Maa-Mati-Manush Diwas', dedicating it to the people of West Bengal. I call upon all Bengalis to join this Shaheed Diwas-cum-'Maa-Mati-Manush Diwas' event. Your participation will make our collective tribute even richer.
Many BJP leaders may be involved
According to Trinamool sources, former BJP leader and Trinamool joinee Shovan Chatterjee and his friend Baishakhi Banerjee, who had parted ways with the BJP during the 2021 assembly elections, are likely to rejoin the party at this rally. Apart from this, party leader Kunal Ghosh has also announced that three BJP MPs will also join Trinamool on this platform. The Trinamool leadership will also talk about issues related to municipal corporations in this rally.
