Kolkata, July 20 (HS). Trinamool Congress MLA and former chairman of West Bengal Primary Education Council Manik Bhattacharya has expressed dissatisfaction over the ED investigation. During his court appearance on Saturday, he said, “It seems as if I am climbing two feet on a bamboo and coming down one foot, that is, there is no progress.”

Manik Bhattacharya compared the ED investigation to a school maths problem in which a monkey climbs a bamboo and slips down. He said that the investigating agency has to present solid evidence before sending any accused to jail.

Manik told the court that time and again while filing the chargesheet, the ED says that the investigation is ongoing. This is exactly what was taught in class 7-8.

The issue was also raised during Partha Chatterjee's appearance

Former minister Partha Chatterjee was also presented in the court through virtual medium. Partha's lawyer told the court that he had asked for some documents from ED, which were not found. ED said that they are preparing another report and those documents are needed. On this, the court expressed displeasure, calling ED's argument weak and directed to provide the documents.

Kalighat's Kaku and other accused produced before court

On Saturday, 'Kalighat Kaku' alias Sujaykrishna Bhadra and Kuntal Ghosh were also produced in the court. Kalighat Kaku's lawyer demanded hard copies of some documents.

Kuntal Ghosh's lawyer questioned the ED's investigation and asked the court when the case would be heard if the investigation is not complete. Kuntal came out of the court and said that he would not be able to appear on the stage on July 21, which upsets him.

Arpita Mukherjee has fallen ill

Partha Chatterjee's girlfriend Arpita Mukherjee's lawyer, who appeared virtually, told the court that his client is ill and has gynecological problems for which she is undergoing treatment but the medicines are not working. She had already applied for a medical report, which has not been received yet.
