Jammu and Kashmir: Army personnel have recovered an Austrian-made Steyr AUG assault rifle from terrorists killed in an encounter in Keran sector of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. The discovery of the Steyr AUG assault rifle has alarmed security agencies.
According to the information received, arms and ammunition, warlike equipment and a Pakistani identity card have been recovered from the slain terrorists. Sources said that a Steyr AUG is also among the items recovered.

Terrorists are already using US-made M-4 carbine rifles. Security forces recovered it from terrorists killed in both Jammu region and Kashmir. A security official said that M-4 is mostly used by top commanders and Pakistani terrorists active in Jammu and Kashmir. These rifles are very advanced and have night vision devices.
