This Bollywood actor started his career by playing the role of young Shahrukh Khan in the 2010 film 'My Name is Khan'. In 2021, Adarsh Gourav got a film that changed his fate. The film was 'The White Tiger'. In this film, Adarsh Gourav played the character of Balram Halwai and earned a lot of fame. This film got a nomination for the best adapted screenplay at the 93rd Academy Awards (Oscar Awards). During this film, Adarsh worked at a tea stall for Rs 100 per day to prepare for his character.
In an interview to Vaughan, Adarsh Gaurav told that to understand his character in the film 'The White Tiger', he visited a village named Chalkari in Jharkhand to learn about the environment and the world. It was from here that he developed an understanding of playing the character. After this, he changed his clothes and started living at a tea shop in Saket, Delhi.
Adarsh Gaurav further said, “I dressed like Balram, kept my hair and beard untidy. I did not even bathe for several weeks. He used to earn Rs 100 a day by cleaning plates and serving tea to people. I hated this bitter experience. One day I was going back to the hotel when a man gave me Rs 20 to change his bag. All these moments prepared me well for my character.”
Apart from Adarsh Gourav, Priyanka Chopra and Rajkumar Rao were also in 'The White Tiger'. For this film, Adarsh Gourav also got nominations for the AACTA International Award for Best Actor, BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role and Spirit Award for Best Male Lead.
