UPSC chairman Manoj Soni resigned, 5 years of tenure still left

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Chairman Manoj Soni has resigned. His term was to end in 2029. But just before the completion of his term, he submitted his resignation to the President. According to what is coming to light, Soni has resigned due to personal reasons. Manoj Soni resigned in the last week of June. However, no official information has come out yet about the resignation being accepted.

Manoj Soni joined as a UPSC member in 2017. He was made the chairman of UPSC in 2023. His term was to end in 2029. But just before that Manoj Soni resigned. According to the information received, Soni has resigned to give more time to Anupam Mission, Anupam Soni is a branch of the Swaminarayan sect based in Gujarat.

After initiation in 2020, Manoj Soni became a sadhu or nishkam karma yogi within the mission. Reports suggest that his resignation and the puja khela case have nothing to do with it. He has resigned from this post due to his personal reasons.

Let us tell you that Soni is considered close to PM Modi. Therefore, in the year 2005, Manoj Soni was appointed as the Vice Chancellor of MS University (AIIMS University) located in Vadodara, Gujarat. At that time, Soni was only 40 years old. He holds the record of being the youngest Vice Chancellor. After this, Soni was made the Vice Chancellor of two universities of Gujarat.
