At that time, activities like door-to-door survey, drug spraying, eradication campaign were carried out to prevent mosquito-borne epidemics, which included destroying mosquito shelters, making people aware of the measures to avoid it. However, as a conscious citizen, minor diseases like dengue, malaria can be easily avoided by taking some precautions. So let us know what precautions we can take to avoid dengue.

Symptoms of Dengue

Dengue fever is a painful and mosquito-borne disease. These mosquitoes carry the malaria virus that causes mosquito-borne disease in humans. Dengue is spread by a particular species of Aedes mosquito. Often people do not realize that this fever is serious. Symptoms of dengue include persistent fever, joint and muscle pain, skin rashes, fatigue and nervousness, which people ignore considering it normal. Which can be harmful in the long run. Therefore, the district health system is conducting door-to-door surveys to inform people and find out the breeding places of mosquitoes.

Preventive measures against dengue

These mosquitoes breed in private/public plots around the house, water bodies, water tanks and storage vessels like, Kerba, Matla, Bucket, Hoses etc. Do not keep such water storage devices open, cover them with air or tie them with cloth, filter the water kept for animals and birds from one vessel to another every third day to destroy the lumps formed and wipe the bottom. Use large water hoses to wash the vessels and destroy the eggs of mosquitoes and it is mandatory to bring whole carnivorous fish from the health centre into the tank.

Why is dengue considered serious?

This disease is caused by the bite of an infectious female mosquito. Which eats white blood cells. Due to the decrease in white blood cells in the human body, the skin of the human body starts bleeding and the person may even die. In such a situation, the health department in the district is working to make people aware to avoid dengue disease and drive them away.
