India's third-largest software exporter HCLTech is introducing a new policy to link employees' leaves to their office attendance. The initiative aims to encourage employees to work from office at least three days a week.
Leave will be deducted if you do not come to office
This step has been taken when companies aim to call employees back to the office after the Covid pandemic. HCLTech employees will have to come to the office and work at least three days a week and at least 12 days a month. According to a Moneycontrol report quoting insiders, if the employees do not do so, their leave will be deducted for every day they miss.
Hybrid work model adopted this year
HCLTech adopted a hybrid work model earlier this year and asked employees to work from the office three days a week. An employee at the company told Moneycontrol that HR has started informing some teams about this update via email from this week. Once our leave is over, it may also lead to a salary cut.
How many holidays do HCLTech employees get?
Currently, HCLTech employees who have been in office for less than three years are given 18 annual leaves and one personal leave. Employees who have been in the company for more than three years get about 20 annual leaves and two personal leaves.
