Darjeeling, July 19 (HS). The mortal remains of the Indian Army Captain who was martyred in the terrorist attack in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, were immersed in the five elements on Friday. The Tibetan community paid tribute to martyr Captain Brijesh Thapa under the Tibetan Refugee Center in Darjeeling.
On Thursday morning, the body of martyr Thapa, wrapped in the tricolour, was carried out by the soldiers of the regiment on their shoulders. From here, the body was taken to Lebong in Darjeeling in an army vehicle, where the body was kept in the ancestral home of the martyred soldier. On the way, the people of Darjeeling raised slogans of Pakistan Murdabad.
After that, his last rites were performed with full state honours on Friday morning. On this occasion, other senior army officers were also present along with the family members of the martyr.
Four soldiers including Army Captain Brijesh Thapa were martyred in an encounter between the army and terrorists in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir on Monday evening.
