Ranchi, July 19 (HS). The Jharkhand unit of All India Bank Pensioners and Retirees Confederation (AIBPARC) distributed fruit plants among 100 farmers in Chene village of Namkum on Friday on Bank Nationalization Day. Mango, jackfruit and guava plants were given among them. Also, one school bag, pencil and copy were distributed among 32 students studying in class one to class five in the school. Sari and dhoti were also distributed to ten elderly people of the village. 50 organization members contributed in the program.
On the other hand, a public meeting was organised in the hall of Bank, Hotel Green Park. In this, students of Economics Department of Vinoba Bhave University of Hazaribagh district participated.
Former division president Sajal Mukherjee was present. He expressed his views on the role of public sector banks in the development of the country's economy. He also praised the services provided by public sector banks in remote villages. He also said that we should be alert and cautious about the policies of the government, including the efforts of privatization. The members of the organization also took a pledge to sacrifice themselves with dedication in any movement run by bank employees which would be against the efforts of privatization of public sector banks.
