Bikaner, July 19 (HS). For the economic development of any state, it is very important that the industrial units there are advanced and successful. Our state is becoming a hub of agriculture based industries due to the agricultural produce in the state, but due to the relief given to agriculture based industries in the neighboring states, the industrial units of our state are lagging behind. This is the statement of Harsh Kansal, President of Laghu Udyog Bharati.
Giving information about the ongoing crises on agro-based industries, Kansal said that it is very important for the government of our state, which is committed to fulfilling the Prime Minister's dream of a developed India, to remove these unequal inequalities. He said that during the Corona period, the previous Congress government had imposed 1 percent Kisan Kalyan Cess on agricultural commodities, which continues to be in place even after so much time has passed since the Corona period. Through a letter to the Chief Minister, he has now issued an order to remove this fee as soon as possible and has sought relief.
While giving information, Chairman Harsh Kansal said that in our state, the market fee on agricultural produce pulses has been fixed at 1.60% and commission at 2.25% by the state government, whereas in our neighbouring states, this fee is either not there at all or if it is there somewhere, it is negligible. There are a large number of pulse mills in our state and we also have a lot of produce, but the farmers are not able to get the right price due to all these taxes and they go out of the state to sell their produce, due to which the industrial units here are not able to get the produce and they are on the verge of closure or are somehow protecting themselves in the hope that someday the government will listen to their voice and we will be alive again.
Harsh, while making people consider the present situation, demanded to abolish the Mandi fee and reduce the commission fee. Kansal said that some pulses which are not produced in our state but are used a lot in the papad bhujia industry here, the traders sell the goods to the dal mills here only after paying the Mandi fee or tax to the government there, but here again Mandi fee etc. is collected on it, which is absolutely wrong and not fair, due to this the goods of the dal mills here become expensive and they do not get any buyer, due to this a question mark has been put on their existence itself. Calling the implementation of GST a commendable step, Kansal said that due to this, it has become easy for the traders to sell their goods all over India due to the same tax amount, now the whole India has become a market for us, but now if Mandi fee and excessive commission tax will be collected in our state, then it will be impossible for the industrial units here to save themselves and their future will become dark. The government should look into our problems seriously and do justice by protecting the businesses in the state and abolish these fees immediately.
