MK Stalin-can-become-Udhayanidhi-deputy-CM: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin may soon appoint his son and state Youth Welfare and Sports Minister Udhayanidhi as Deputy Chief Minister. Top sources said that Chief Minister Stalin will appoint Udhayanidhi as Deputy Chief Minister before leaving for the US on August 22. Stalin was made Deputy Chief Minister in 2009 when Stalin's father M. Karunanidhi was the Chief Minister. Later Stalin emerged as a big leader in Tamil Nadu politics.
Udhayanidhi will be the face of the party
DMK sources said that Udhayanidhi could become the face of the party in the 2026 assembly elections. DMK party cadres and leaders want Udhayanidhi to be made Deputy Chief Minister. They believe that these steps could benefit the party in the 2026 assembly elections.
After the results of the Lok Sabha elections were announced, preparations were made to make Udhayanidhi the Deputy Chief Minister, but the DMK and Stalin postponed the plan to make his son Udhayanidhi the Deputy Chief Minister due to the Kallakurichi massacre and Udhayanidhi's controversial remarks against Sanatan Dharma in which 65 people lost their lives.
