RS Pura, 15 February (His). District Development Council member Suchetgarh Taranjit Singh Tony on Thursday started the work of paving the link road from village Sai Tangali Gurudwara Sahib to village Mula Chak. More than Rs 4 crore will be spent on making this road concrete.
A large number of local people were present on this occasion. On this occasion, District Development Council member Suchetgarh Taranjit Singh Tony said that the construction work of this road was lying incomplete for a long time and the bridge built by spending crores of rupees was also not of use to the people. He said that recently when there was shelling from Pakistan, he raised this problem before Divisional Commissioner Jammu as well as other officials and today this important work has been started.
Instructions have been given to the concerned department and contractor that the work should be done in a better way and no compromise will be made with the quality. He said that due to there being only one bridge, people had to face a lot of problems, but today the construction work of an additional bridge is also going on in the area and the soon completion of the work will benefit the people of dozens of villages in the area. He said that after becoming a District Development Council member, he continuously paid attention to those works which were lying incomplete and people were not getting any benefit from them.
He assured the people of the area that in the coming days too, development work will be continued in the area and along with providing better basic facilities to the people, their problems will also be solved on priority. Earlier, on reaching the village, the District Development Council was welcomed by the local people and their respective problems were also put before them. On this occasion, former Sarpanch Shyam Lal Bhagat, Mandeep Chaudhary and Tara Singh and others were also present with him.
