Uttar Pradesh Kanwar Yatra controversy : A big controversy is being seen after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath (CM Yogi Adityanath) ordered to write the name on all the shops falling on the route of Kavad Yatra. His decision was first opposed by the opposition, now the allies of BJP have also started protesting. After Janata Dal United (JDU), now the National Democratic Alliance (RJD) has opposed the order to put the name board of the owner on hotels, restaurants, dhabas, fruit and other food and beverage shops on the Kavad Yatra route during the month of Shravan. Ally Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan has also questioned Yogi's decision.
We will never support caste-religion division: Chirag Paswan
Chirag Paswan said, 'Whenever caste or religion will be divided, I will never support it.' The Uttar Pradesh government first ordered the Muzaffarnagar police force to write the owner's name on all the shops on the Kavad Yatra route, after which a similar order was given in Shamli and Saharanpur districts. After this matter came to light, opposition forces like Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, Congress protested. Mayawati also demanded the withdrawal of Yogi's order.
JDU-RLD also objected to Yogi's decision
Nitish Kumar's party Janata Dal United (JDU) and Jayant Chaudhary's party Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) also objected to the order of the Yogi government. While JDU called a meeting on Thursday to review the order of the Yogi government, RLD has demanded withdrawal of the decision on Friday. Not only the opposition but also the allies of BJP are opposing this order.
After the protest, the police said, 'The order is voluntary'
Following protests by Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati, All India Majlis-e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi and other opposition leaders, the Muzaffarnagar police on Thursday clarified that the order is voluntary but on Friday CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered to fix the names of shopkeepers on the Kavad route across UP.
Such an order is a step to promote caste-communalism: RLD
RLD state president Ramashish Rai tweeted on Twitter that the Uttar Pradesh government's order to shopkeepers to write their name and religion on their shops is a step to promote caste and sectarianism. The RLD leader has called it an unconstitutional decision and demanded its withdrawal from the system. Jayant Chaudhary's party does not have many MPs but it is the only ally of BJP in western UP. Muslims have been getting a place in the politics of Jayant Chaudhary's party. Therefore, the statement of its state president expresses the anger spreading among the minorities of the area due to this order.
Muslims have always been at the forefront in serving the Kavvadias: JDU
JDU spokesperson KC Tyagi belongs to western UP. He said on Thursday that no such order should be issued which creates communal division. Referring to the Muslims of Muzaffarnagar, Tyagi said that these people have always been at the forefront in serving and helping the Kavadias. Tyagi demanded the government to review the order.
