New Delhi: The controversy of paper leak and cheating in NEET-UG has spread across the country. There is a lot of anger among the students on this issue. Since the decision in this case can affect the lives of more than 23 lakh students, the Supreme Court on Thursday ordered the exam conducting body NTA to publish city-wise and center-wise results online by Saturday. Identity of students. However, the court has refused to stop counseling. Now an important hearing will be held in the case on Monday, in which the Supreme Court can give its verdict on whether the NEET-UG exam should be conducted again or not. However, the court has indicated that the possibility of this is very low. The Supreme Court heard the arguments of the government and the petitioners on Thursday.
The Supreme Court on Thursday heard 40 petitions related to the irregularities in the NEET-UG examination held on May 5 for admission to 1.08 lakh seats in government and private medical colleges across the country. During the hearing, the marks of the students, the report of IIT Madras, when and how the paper was tampered with, how many solvers were caught, the status report of the CBI investigation into the tampering of the paper, the demand for re-examination and the entire timeline were discussed. Discussion on paper tampering Chief Justice Chandrachud made it clear to the lawyers of the student petitioners who claimed paper leak that the paper will be canceled only when it is proved that the paper has been leaked across the country. A division bench of Chief Justice Dhananjay Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra on Thursday directed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to publish the marks of the students on the official website by 12 noon on Saturday. In the hearing on the irregularities in NEET-UG, the Supreme Court said that the scores should be declared city-wise and center-wise by hiding the identity of the students. They want to see whether candidates who appeared for the exam at the allegedly infamous centres have scored more marks or candidates from other centres have scored more marks. We want to see what is the centre-wise pattern of marks.
The Supreme Court also asked the NTA how many of the 23.33 lakh students had changed their exam centres? The NTA replied that 15,000 students had changed centres in the name of correction. However, students can only change the city and no candidate can choose the centre. He has no idea which centre he is going to find.
The bench rejected the petitioners' argument that they were not provided a copy of the CBI's status report filed in the Supreme Court in the paper leak case. The Chief Justice said, this is not a sealed cover process and we believe in transparency. But the CBI has told us that if its report is made public, it may create obstacles in the investigation. Apart from this, you have to show that the paper leak was systematic and it affected the sanctity of the entire examination.
Advocate Narendra Hooda, appearing for some of the petitioners seeking re-conduct of NEET-UG and alleged paper leak, said that the NTA had increased the syllabus five months before the exam and that was the basis for grace marks. Then the test was conducted again to hide the irregularities. He further claimed that the paper leak conspiracy was hatched a month ago. There was an agreement regarding transportation of question papers. The question papers remained with a private courier company in Hazaribagh for six days. Surprisingly, they took the question papers to the examination centre in an e-rickshaw, the principal of which was later arrested for his alleged involvement in the scam. The bench said that prima facie it appears that the paper leak was limited only to Patna and Hazaribagh and it cannot be said that something like this happened in Godhra.

No money for 45 minutes before the exam. Have to pay 75 lakhs?
It is impossible to solve 180 papers in 45 minutes: Chief Justice
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday heard together the petitions demanding cancellation of the exam including paper leak and other irregularities in NEET-UG. During the hearing, the Chief Justice wondered how 180 questions of the NEET question paper could be solved within 45 minutes and how could 100 rupees be paid. The price of 75 lakhs is also surprising. Hearing the NEET-UG paper leak case, Chief Justice Dhananjay Chandrachud said that to know how extensive the paper leak was, it is very important to know how long before the exam the paper was leaked. The greater the gap between the paper leak and the start of the exam, the more extensive it will be. On the argument of the central government, the Chief Justice said that the students got the paper at 10.15 am. It has 180 questions. Earlier, all the questions were solved in just 45 minutes between 9.30 and 10.15 am? It is difficult to believe this. Apart from this, is it right to pay Rs 100 for 45 minutes before the exam? Can you pay 75 lakhs?
