Major accident in Mali due to driver losing control, bus falls from bridge into river, 31 killed

Road accidents in Mali: A terrible accident has occurred in the African country Mali, in which 31 people have died and 10 have been injured when a bus fell from a bridge into the river. This incident happened in Keniba area.

The incident occurred while crossing the bridge over Bago river.

Regarding this incident, Mali's Transport Ministry said that the accident happened while crossing the bridge built on the Bago River. The accident happened at 5 pm. Furthermore, the Transport Ministry further stated that the probable reason behind the accident was that the driver lost control of the bus. It is noteworthy that road accidents occur frequently in Mali. Many roads, highways and vehicles in the country are in poor condition.

Earlier there was a collision between a bus and a truck

Earlier this month, 15 people were killed and more than 45 injured when a bus headed to the capital Bamako collided with a truck in central Mali. Both the vehicles were going in opposite directions. UN figures for 2023 show that one-quarter of the world's road traffic deaths occur in Africa.
