There is a protest going on in New Delhi regarding the construction of a temple in the name of Kedarnath Dham. Protests are going on from Delhi to Kedarnath. They say that Kedarnath Dham is one and there can be no other temple like it. Now the Uttarakhand Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that the government will make a strict law to ensure that no trust, temple or committee is formed in the name of Chardham and other major temples in Uttarakhand.
The name will be changed
Amid the recent controversy, it has been decided by the Shri Kedarnath Dham Delhi Trust to build a replica of the Kedarnath temple in Burari, Delhi, whose foundation stone will be laid by the Chief Minister. Since then, the Dhami government and the ruling BJP have been facing criticism from the priests of Kedarnath Dham and the main opposition Congress. However, Delhi Mandir Nirman Trust chief Surinder Rautela clarified that the government is not involved in the construction of the temple. He further said that the name of 'Delhi Kedarnath Temple' will be changed as it is hurting sentiments. The chairman of the Delhi Kedarnath Temple Trust said that if the sentiments of the people are being hurt by naming the temple to be built in Delhi as Kedarnath Temple, then the trust will change the name of the temple.
Dhami government took the decision
Amid the ongoing controversy over the construction of a temple in the name of Kedarnath Dham in New Delhi, the Dhami cabinet has decided to make a strict law to prevent the misuse of the names of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham. If anyone builds a temple or dham with names like these famous and holy dhams, then the government will take strict legal action. The cabinet has directed the Endowment Department to prepare a proposal soon and present it to the cabinet.
Confusion is created among the people- CM Dhami
Under the proposal placed in the meeting chaired by CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, it was said that a trust or committee is being formed by some individuals and organizations using the name of Chardham located in the state of Uttarakhand. Such activities create confusion among the people. 'Resentment is also possible at the local level. The cabinet has decided to make strict legal provisions to prevent misuse of the names of temples located in Chardham. Meanwhile, Cabinet Secretary Shailesh Bagoli said that 24 proposals were approved in the meeting.
