ED's eighth summons to Kejriwal: Called for questioning on March 4

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for the eighth time for questioning in a money laundering case related to the excise policy scam, official sources said in a statement.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Kejriwal has been asked to be present at the agency's headquarters on March 4.

Kejriwal was to appear before the ED yesterday in connection with the seventh summons but he did not appear. He said that he will appear before the ED only when the court asks him to appear before the ED.

Kejriwal has not appeared before the ED in any of the seven summons so far. ED had filed an application in Delhi court against Kejriwal to appear despite repeated summons.

Regarding this application, the court has ordered Kejriwal to appear in the court on the next date of hearing, March 16.

Issuing the eighth summons, the ED rejected Kejriwal's plea that the ED summons was invalid as the case was pending in the local court.
