India's Energy Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is going to visit Nepal in the last week of this month. This will be the first visit of a minister of the Indian government to Nepal after the formation of the Modi government for the third time in India.
India's Energy Minister's visit to Nepal is important for signing the trilateral electricity trade agreement between Nepal, India and Bangladesh. Nepal's Energy and Water Resources Minister Deepak Khadka said that Nepal's dream of selling electricity to Bangladesh via India is going to come true. He said that India's Energy Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is going to reach Kathmandu on July 28 to witness this historic moment.
According to Energy Minister Khadka, Bangladesh's State Minister for Power Nasrul Hamid has also been invited. The trilateral electricity trade agreement will be signed in the presence of the energy ministers of the three countries. Under this agreement, Nepal can sell its electricity to Bangladesh via India. An agreement in this regard has already been signed by the Indian government.
