Shimla, July 18 (HS). Thieves are emboldened in Shimla. Thieves broke the lock of a house in broad daylight under Sadar police station area and stole cash worth thousands. This theft incident took place in an old house located in Willows Hotel House in Lakkar Bazaar area. In a complaint given to the police, Jagat Ram Halu Ram said that he lives in Willows Hotel House number-six in Lakkar Bazaar. On July 16, he went to the hospital with his wife for a checkup. When he returned home in the afternoon, the lock of his room was broken and the items inside were scattered. He said that about 80 thousand rupees were kept in the cupboard of the room, which were found missing.

On the basis of the complaint, the police have registered a case under Section 331 (3), 305 of the IPC and have started investigating. The problem faced by the police is that there are no CCTV cameras installed around the crime scene. Due to this, they are facing difficulties in identifying the thieves. The house where the theft took place is old and dilapidated and people have been living here for many years.

For the past few days, incidents of theft have increased in Shimla city and surrounding areas. Two days ago, in Sunni police station area adjacent to Shimla, thieves broke the locks of the upper floor of a house and stole jewellery worth lakhs, while the members of the victim's family were sleeping on the lower floor of the house.

On the other hand, Shimla SP Sanjeev Gandhi said that the police is very serious about the incidents of theft. These thefts are being carried out by gangs. The police have received important inputs about the gang and it will be exposed soon.
