Jhajjar, July 18 (HS). The 41st Sub Junior, 51st Junior and 59th Senior Haryana State Swimming Competition has started at the Champions Aquatic Academy located in HL City of the city. In the 1500 meter freestyle of the men's category, Pawan of Jhajjar won the gold and Darsh of Faridabad won the silver medal. In the women's category, Lakshita of Faridabad won the gold, Suhani of Gurugram won the silver and Samridhi of Jhajjar won the bronze medal. In the boys' group one 400 meter freestyle, Saksham of Jhajjar won the gold, Arjun of Gurugram won the silver and Mayank June of Jhajjar won the bronze medal.
The competition was started by Bhiwani Mahendragarh MP and Haryana Swimming Association President Dharambir Singh by blowing the whistle. He encouraged the swimmers and wished them a better future. Dharambir Singh said that Haryana swimmers have the ability to bring glory to the country. Haryana Swimming Association is continuously working to increase the ability and technical skills of swimmers. On the first day of the competition, Dharambir Singh also honored the winning swimmers by giving them medals and certificates. Haryana Swimming Association General Secretary Anil Khatri said that on the first day, 44 events of freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, breaststroke were held in sub-junior, junior and senior categories. In Boys Group-2 400 meter freestyle, Darsh from Faridabad won Gold and Daksh from Gurugram won Silver medal. In this category, Lakshita from Faridabad won Gold and Niyati from Palwal won Silver medal. In Boys Group-3 400 meter freestyle, Iraj from Sonipat won Gold and Ujjwal from Palwal won Silver medal. In Girls category, Serena from Gurugram won Gold and Anjana from Palwal won Silver medal. In Boys Group-1 200 meter breaststroke, Krish from Gurugram won Gold and Nitin from Jhajjar won Silver medal. In Girls Group-1, Samya Shingari from Gurugram won Gold and Priyanshi from Jhajjar won Silver medal. Anil Khatri told that about 950 swimmers from all districts participated in the competition. The four-day long competition will conclude on July 21. Congress leader Naresh June was also present during the competition.
