Ranchi, July 18 (HS). On the lines of the country's renowned English competition 'Word Power Championship' for school children, a state-level Basic Education and Numeracy (FLN) Championship will be organized. The launch and trophy unveiling program of this championship was organized on Thursday at Jharkhand Education Project Council.
State Education Project Director Aditya Ranjan formally launched the championship. This state level championship will be organized in the month of March 2025 in collaboration with Marico Nihar Shanti Pathshala – Leap for Word. Prior to this, workshops will be organized to train FLN master trainers at the state, district and block level. For the state level championship, school children from class two to five will be able to enroll for three subjects such as English, Hindi and Mathematics from July 20, 2024. Registration of teachers will be done by July 20, 2024.
The competition will be held in several stages
The state level FLN championship competition will be organized at cluster, block, district and state level. This competition will be organized online at cluster and block level. Offline competition will be organized at district level. The winners selected at the district level will get an opportunity to showcase their talent in the state level FLN championship to be held in Ranchi. The winning participants of the competition will be rewarded at the state level.
63,611 teachers from 27,929 schools have registered so far
So far, 63,611 teachers from 27,929 schools have registered themselves for the state level FLN Championship. The registration process is ongoing. Teachers have to be registered by July 20, 2024. Registered teachers will be given special training by Jharkhand Education Project Council for classroom teaching by sharing digital content.
Jharkhand became the overall champion in the Word Power Championship
In the National Word Power Championship held in Mumbai on 11 and 12 April 2024, children of government schools of Jharkhand won the title of overall champion for the state by giving correct answers to difficult English words. This competition was held between eight states. In the national competition, Jharkhand got first place in class two category, fifth in class three category, fourth in class four category and second in class five category. In this competition, the talented children of Jharkhand made the state proud by defeating Tamil Nadu and host Maharashtra by taking a lead of 0.23 percent marks.
