Death penalty in Saudi Arabia: Seven people convicted of terrorism were beheaded in a single day

Seven people convicted of terrorism were beheaded by the sword on Tuesday, according to Saudi Arabian media reports. In March 2022, 81 people were hanged in Saudi Arabia in a single day, the highest number of executions on Tuesday.

According to the official press agency of Saudi Arabia, these seven people were accused of forming and funding a terrorist organization. In which, if found guilty, he was sentenced to death.

It is believed that these seven people are citizens of Saudi Arabia. However, his citizenship has not been officially disclosed.

Saudi Arabia hanged 170 people in 2023 and 29 people have been hanged so far in 2024. According to Amnesty International, in 2022, after China and Iran, the highest number of people were given death sentence in Saudi Arabia.

Those sentenced to death last year included two soldiers convicted of treason and 33 people involved in terrorist acts.

The Saudi Arabian government believes that capital punishment is both necessary and appropriate to maintain law and order.
