Mumbai: The shooting of the biopic of yesteryear actress Meena Kumari has been postponed. Kriti Sanon is going to play the role of Meena Kumari in this film. The shooting of this film was earlier supposed to start in October 2023. But, it keeps getting delayed due to various reasons. Now it is expected that the shooting can start only in 2025.
With this film, costume designer Manish Malhotra is jumping into the field of film direction. It is being told that he is still not satisfied with the script of the film. He suggested many changes in the script. Due to this, now the entire schedule has been postponed once again.
Earlier when this film was announced, Meena Kumari's husband late Kamal Amrohi's family initially opposed it. However, they later withdrew their objection. But, the film got further embroiled in this controversy.
