Rain increased inflation! People are spending all their money on vegetables, rates are skyrocketing

Vegetable inflation: It has been raining continuously in many parts of the country since the last week of last month. On one hand, the arrival of monsoon has given relief to people from the record-breaking heat, on the other hand, the changing weather has started affecting people's pockets. Due to the rain, the prices of vegetables are skyrocketing, which is directly affecting the common people.

According to a recent survey, due to the rising prices of vegetables, more than half of most people's household budget is being spent on vegetables. This survey was conducted by the community social media platform Local Circles. The survey revealed that 6 out of 10 people spend more than half of their weekly budget on vegetables. Budget More than 50 percent of Indians are spending on buying vegetables. That is, with the increase in prices, the contribution of vegetables in the total expenditure of 60 percent Indians has increased to more than 50 percent.

People are facing the most problems due to the increase in the price of tomatoes. 71 percent of the people who participated in this survey of Local Circles say that they are buying tomatoes by paying Rs 50 per kg or more. Whereas 18 percent of the people say that they are currently paying more than Rs 100 per kg to buy tomatoes.

More than 41 thousand people living in 393 districts of the country were included in this survey. According to Local Circles, 62 percent of the people surveyed were men, while the participation of women was 38 percent. The participation of people from big cities (Tier-1) in the survey was 42 percent. While 25 percent people from Tier-2 cities participated in the survey. 33 percent of the people surveyed were from Tier-3 and Tier-4 cities or rural areas.

Even before this, shocking things have come to the fore regarding the increase in vegetable prices. In the month of June, the retail inflation rate has once again crossed 5 percent. The retail inflation rate in June was 5.08 percent, which is the highest in 4 months. Government data shows that the biggest contribution to the increase in retail inflation in June was the increase in the price of food items, especially vegetables. Earlier, Crisil had said in a report that the prices of food plates had increased by 10 percent on an annual basis in the month of June.
