Jammu, July 16 (HS). Four army personnel including an officer were martyred in an encounter with heavily armed terrorists in Doda district. Senior PDP leader and social worker targeted the Center on Tuesday. He said that this is the third major encounter between security forces and terrorists in the forests of Doda district in the last three weeks. The border districts of Jammu region have seen a sudden increase in terrorist attacks since April this year. 12 security personnel including an army captain and 10 civilians have been killed in the attacks while 55 people have been injured. Narinder expressed concern over the Jammu region being targeted by terrorists.
He said security forces are committed to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir for which sustained operations are a must. He said the need of the hour is to launch joint and coordinated operations with the Jammu and Kashmir Police to eliminate foreign terrorists infiltrating from across the border and infiltrating into the upper reaches of Udhampur, Doda and Kishtwar districts of Jammu region and thereafter into Kashmir.
He said the Modi government is acting as if everything is going on as usual and nothing has changed. They should know that the Jammu region is bearing the brunt of these attacks. We cannot endanger our national security by making false claims, making false statements and creating a ruckus. He alleged that soldiers and their families are bearing the brunt of the BJP's wrong policies.
