Ranchi, July 16 (HS). Former Union Minister Anurag Thakur targeted the Hemant government and said that the current government made many promises before coming to power, none of which were fulfilled and Jharkhand did not develop the way it could have. He said that corruption is rampant in the state. Development is blocked. The only news coming from this state is that sometimes 350 crores and sometimes 25 crores were seized.
Anurag Thakur was talking to journalists in Ranchi on Tuesday. He said that the state government had promised to provide five lakh jobs. That is a far cry, the government here could not even give unemployment allowance to the youth. It seems that the government has completely failed. He said that there are favorable conditions for corruption in Jharkhand. This government has no willpower for investment and development. Giving the example of Assam, he said that the double engine government there has touched many new heights. An investment of one thousand crore rupees has come in the field of semi-conductors there.
Thakur said why does investment not come to Jharkhand? The reason is that there are favorable conditions to promote corruption here and there is no will for development or investment. The MP said that it has been two decades since the formation of Jharkhand but it has not been able to touch new heights of development, as expected. Taking a dig at the Hemant Soren government of Jharkhand, he said that people often get news of seizures from the state, which indicates that corruption is rampant in Jharkhand and there is no interest in development.
Anurag Thakur said that before 2017, even during the UPA regime in Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav's government had stopped work but when Yogi and BJP formed the government, the double engine government improved the criminal system of the state. Made record investments and took development to new heights. He said that during the UPA regime in Assam, Congress was in power and Dr. Manmohan Singh was elected Prime Minister from Assam but what was the condition of Assam? Now look at Assam under the double engine government. We have also brought big investments.
