Korba/Janjgir-Champa, July 16 (HS). A massive tree plantation week was organized in the district from July 10 to July 16 under the “One tree in the name of mother” campaign.
Under this, the massive plantation week was concluded by organizing a Van Mahotsav program by the District Administration and Forest Division Janjgir-Champa at Police Line Khokhara on Tuesday. In which public representatives, officers-employees, school-college students and common citizens participated.
On this occasion MLA Janjgir-Champa Beas Narayan Kashyap, MLA Akaltara Raghavendra Kumar Singh, MLA Pamgarh Mrs. Sheshraj Harbansh, former Leader of Opposition Narayan Chandel, District Panchayat members Mrs. Kusum Kamal Kishore, Rajkumar Sahu, Mrs. Uma Rajendra Rathore, Gulab Singh Chandel, Amar Sultania, Collector Akash Chikkara, Superintendent of Police Vivek Shukla, Assistant Collector Durga Prasad Adhikari, Divisional Forest Officer Mrs. Priyanka Pandey, Additional Collector SP Vaidya, District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Gokul Kumar Raote along with other public representatives, school students and citizens were present.
The chief guest of the program, Janjgir-Champa MP Mrs. Kamlesh Jangde said that on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, all citizens and school children must plant trees in the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. Along with planting trees, they must also take care of them. Mrs. Jangde has requested more and more citizens to join the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign by planting a vine plant. The program was conducted by Satish Singh. On this occasion, the public representatives, students, officers and citizens present also took an oath to protect the environment by planting trees.
