According to the information, heavy rains occurred in many areas of Karnataka. Due to torrential rains, landslides have occurred at many places. According to sources, members of a family running a small roadside shop on National Highway 66 are feared to be buried under the mud. A gas tanker overturned in the nearby Gangavali river due to the landslide. At the same time, the driver and cleaner of the vehicle, who were reportedly drinking tea at the shop at the time of the incident, are missing.
10-15 people feared drowned in Gangavali river
The police officer said that the rescue operation is underway. Karwar MLA Satish Sail raised the issue in the assembly and said that according to the report he received, 10-15 people are feared to have fallen into the Gangavali river after the landslide. Meanwhile, Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda told the House that he has sought a report from the district administration and will say something about it later.
