Chandipura virus: There is a threat of Chandipura virus spreading in Sabarkantha district of Gujarat. So far 6 children have died due to this virus. At present, suspected Chandipura symptoms have been found in 8 children. 2 children are undergoing treatment at Himmatnagar Civil.

It is noteworthy that another child has died of suspected Chandipura virus in the Aravalli region. The child who was admitted to the hospital 2 days ago has died. The reports of all the children with suspected symptoms from Chandipur have been sent to the Pune lab. It will take 12 to 15 days for the report to come.

Let us tell you that Chandipur virus has been found in children aged 9 months to 14 years in rural areas of Gujarat. 13 suspected cases of this disease were reported during the monsoon season, out of which 6 patients are currently undergoing treatment. 4 patients have been treated in Sabarkantha district, 3 in Aravalli, 1 each in Mahisagar and Kheda.

It is noteworthy that so far 6 children have died due to Chandipura virus. Health Minister Rishikesh Patel said that this is not an infectious disease. At present, instructions have been given to keep a close watch in the affected areas. 18646 persons have been examined and 2093 insecticides have been sprayed in 4487 houses.

In cases of Chandipura virus, patients show symptoms like fever, vomiting, difficulty in breathing and brain fever. It is difficult to identify this disease in the initial stage. Chandipura virus is mostly seen in children under 10 years of age. This virus is extremely deadly. Also, a person infected with this virus needs immediate treatment. In 1965, this epidemic appeared in Chandipura district of Maharashtra. Then it appeared in other states including Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat.

Chandipura virus is a disease that is usually seen during the rainy season, especially in rural areas. Which is caused by biting sand. It is an RNA virus. This virus is spread by female phlebotomine flies. Among mosquitoes, Aedes mosquito is responsible for this. The mortality rate here is also the highest.

14 years ago, Chandipura virus killed 14 people in Gujarat. This virus spread in the village due to a grass fly. People who have lice in their houses should remove the lice from their houses and destroy this fly.
