Since the team is not going to Pakistan, ICC may allocate additional budget
According to PCB sources, since the tournament is to be held in February-March next year, the board wants to resolve the matter quickly as the ICC's annual conference will be held in Colombo on July 19. Under this, the Indian team can play its matches in the UAE. The tournament will start in Karachi from February 19 and the final will be played in Lahore on March 9. One day will be reserved for the final. According to BCCI sources, the team is not going to Pakistan and in such a situation the ICC management can allocate additional budget.
BCCI is also dependent on government decisions
The BCCI says that the decision to play or not play in Pakistan always rests with the government. India's matches in the 2023 ODI Asia Cup were also played in Sri Lanka on a hybrid model. A PCB source said, “If the Indian government has not given permission, then they have to give this in writing and the BCCI should immediately give that letter to the ICC.” We have been constantly saying that the BCCI should inform the ICC in writing five-six months in advance about the team going to Pakistan for the tournament.

The PCB has submitted the draft schedule of the Champions Trophy to the ICC, in which all the matches of India, the semi-finals and the final will be held in Lahore. The match between India and Pakistan is to be played on March 1.
