New Delhi, July 15 (HS). Indian diplomat Vikram Mistry took over as Foreign Secretary on Monday. He has become the 35th Foreign Secretary of the country. Earlier he was the Deputy National Security Advisor.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randeep Jaiswal shared the information about his taking charge. Vikram Mistry has been India's ambassador to Spain, Myanmar and China. During his tenure, India had a standoff with China over the Galwan Valley in which he played a major role in handling the situation. He replaced Vinay Mohan Kwatra. Kwatra has retired.
