Ranchi, July 15 (HS). The issue of Bangladeshi intruders in Jharkhand's Santhal Pargana is getting serious. Politics is also getting heated up over Bangladeshi intrusion in Santhal. Earlier, the Special Branch of Jharkhand Police has also issued an alert regarding Bangladeshi intruders. Meanwhile, on July 3, Jharkhand High Court has directed the government to prepare an action plan and put a brake on Bangladeshi intrusion in Santhal Pargana.
Bangladeshi infiltration has been taking place through Jharkhand's Santhal Pargana division for almost a decade. Now this problem has taken a complex form. In such a situation, the question arises whether Bangladeshi infiltration in Jharkhand is really a coincidence or a deep conspiracy. There are reports of large number of Bangladeshi infiltrators coming illegally through different means in Pakur, Sahibganj, Jamtara, Rajmahal, Godda and Dumka of Jharkhand's Santhal Pargana.
The population is constantly changing
In the 2001 census, the population of Dumka was around 11 lakh 7 thousand. Whereas, in the year 2011, the population of Dumka increased to around 14 lakh. Statistics show that more than 12 lakh new population has settled in all the 6 districts of Santhal.
The Muslim population increased the most in Pakur
In Santhal, the Muslim population has increased the most in Pakur. There has been an increase of around 40 percent in the Muslim population in Pakur. Whereas, there has been a 37 percent increase in the Muslim population in Sahibganj. The biggest reason behind this is believed to be Bangladeshi infiltration. Land brokers play the biggest role in settling Bangladeshi infiltrators in the six districts of Santhal Pargana. Land brokers are settling Bangladeshis through gift deeds. Statistics show that after the formation of Jharkhand, there has been an unexpected increase in the number of people buying registered land in Santhal Pargana.
Bangladeshis living on fake birth certificates
On December 13, 2023, the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of India issued a document, in which it was told that fake birth certificates are being made through more than 120 fake websites. A special warning was given about Jharkhand through the letter. On June 2, 2023, the Special Branch of Jharkhand Police wrote a letter to the Police Captain and DC of all the districts. The Special Branch wrote that there is information about Bangladeshi intruders entering the Santhal Pargana area under Jharkhand state.
According to the information received by the Special Branch, Bangladeshi intruders are first lodged in various madrasas. After this, their government documents are prepared and then their names are included in the voting voter list. After being included in the voter list, they are settled there as part of a conspiracy.
A hearing was held in the division bench of Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad and Justice Arun Kumar Rai of Jharkhand High Court regarding Bangladeshi intruders. After the hearing, the state government has been directed to instruct all the DCs of Santhal Pargana region to prepare an action plan and work on it to identify the intruders coming from Bangladesh and send them back in mutual agreement. In this case, the High Court has also asked the state government to file a status report within two weeks through an affidavit.
Bangladeshi infiltration is happening with the connivance of the state government and administration: CP Singh
In this matter, senior BJP leader and Ranchi MLA CP Singh directly accused that somewhere Bangladeshi infiltration is taking place in Santhal Pargana with the connivance of the state government and administration. He said that this is the reason that when Bangladeshis come to Santhal Pargana, their important documents like Aadhar card and voter card are easily made. After this, Bangladeshi infiltrators gradually start grabbing land in Jharkhand.
Supporting Babulal's statement of changing demography, he said that it is true that the number of tribals in Santhal has decreased. Because, they (Bangladeshi infiltrators) have an expansionist policy. Wherever they live, they will not let anyone live there. He said that the state government benefits from this. They get the bulk votes of Bangladeshi infiltrators and Rohingyas.
BJP is frustrated and disappointed due to fear of defeat: Congress
State Congress General Secretary Rakesh Sinha questioned that Babulal Marandi was the first Chief Minister of the state. Why did he not know at that time that the demography of Santhal is changing. Babulal won the MP election from Santhal and was a minister at the center, then why did he not know that the demography of Santhal is changing. The Congress leader said which census has Babulal conducted. He said that BJP has no issue left. That is why they are making Bangladeshi infiltration and demography an issue.
He said that if Bangladeshi infiltration is really taking place in Santhal and Babulal is serious about the matter then he should ask the country's Home Minister to resign. Because, he is not able to handle the Home and Border. He said that the public will give an answer to BJP in the assembly elections.
