Ranchi, July 15 (HS). A meeting of the Central Peace Committee was held on Monday regarding the Moharram festival under the chairmanship of Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha. During the meeting, the members of the peace committee gave their suggestions one by one. The Akhara representatives talked about making proper arrangements for filling up the potholes on the procession route, arranging lights, deputing adequate number of police forces, cleanliness of toilets etc.
After listening to the suggestions of the members of the peace committee, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha gave necessary instructions to the concerned district level officials to implement them. He said that all the preparations will be completed on time. The Deputy Commissioner directed to ensure the filling of potholes on the procession route, arrangements for lights, toilets, water etc. The Deputy Commissioner said that the festival is to unite all of us, our preparations are in a better state. We hope that everyone will celebrate the festival with discipline, brotherhood and in a harmonious environment and Ranchi will be successful in setting an example in the entire state.
There will be tight security arrangements for Muharram, close eye on social media: SSP
Ranchi SSP Chandan Sinha said that strong security arrangements have been made in the district for Muharram. There is static deployment of police force at more than 200 places. There is also QRT along with patrolling, in which senior police officers will be there. He appealed to everyone to celebrate Muharram peacefully and cooperate in celebrating it. SSP talked about strict action against anti-social elements. He said that from the security point of view, the city is already under CCTV coverage, work is being done to install CCTV at all the sensitive places. Also, social media is being continuously monitored from the control room. He appealed to the people of Ranchi and said that whenever any objectionable, inflammatory post, photo or video is found, send it to the control room so that action can be taken on it.
In the meeting, Shamsher Alam said that we have been celebrating the festival of Moharram for many years and people from all religions and classes cooperate in it. This time too we will set an example by celebrating the festival with brotherhood. He asked all the Akhadadharis to coordinate with the new police station in-charges of their respective areas and take out processions.
