New Delhi, July 15 (HS). Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal held a high-level meeting with the Director General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) on the first day of his Zurich visit. The Commerce Minister reviewed and discussed priority issues with the WTO team. Apart from this, he also met NRIs and potential investors.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that on the first day of his visit to Zurich, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal participated in several important meetings regarding the implementation of the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA). During this, he also highlighted India's development story under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal is on a two-day official visit to Switzerland.
According to the ministry, Commerce Minister Goyal held a high-level meeting with the Director General of the World Trade Organization. Along with this, Goyal also interacted with the NRIs and potential investors on the first day itself, presenting India as an attractive destination for businesses and industry for trade and investment.
It is noteworthy that before his Italy visit, Piyush Goyal is on an official visit to Switzerland on 14th and 15th July for business and meetings with his Swiss counterparts.
