According to Tihar Jail, when Kejriwal first came to jail on April 1, he weighed 65 kg. On April 8 and 29, his weight was recorded as 66 kg. The day he came out of jail on interim bail, his weight was 64 kg. When he returned on June 2 after staying out for 21 days, his weight was 63.5 kg. On July 14, his weight was recorded as 61.5 kg. In fact, his weight has decreased by only 2 kg.

Jail officials say that Kejriwal is losing weight deliberately. He often returns home-cooked food from June 3, the day after returning to jail. Kejriwal's blood sugar level is also being monitored as per the advice of the medical board. He is being given diet and treatment as per the doctor's advice and all the physical tests are normal. Rejecting the claims of the Aam Aadmi Party and Delhi ministers-MLAs, the official statement said that Kejriwal's blood pressure, sugar level and weight are being constantly monitored and adequate treatment is being provided. He is getting home-cooked food three times a day.
Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party had alleged that Kejriwal's weight had reduced by 8.5 kg in jail and there was a possibility of something untoward happening. The party said that Kejriwal's sugar level went below 50 five times while sleeping and there was a danger of him going into a coma if this happened. The party alleges that Kejriwal's health is being tampered with in jail.
